I found this technology in the RQ2 Technologies (Software) table. Nearpod is a tool used in the classroom that adds interactive activities to a lesson (Nearpod, 2021). This could be game-based quizzes, polls, and collaboration boards (Nearpod, 2021). If teachers decide to make students answer questions on Nearpod, they will be able to see how well the students performed. This will help the teacher see how effectively they are teaching the lesson. Nearpod even has pre-made lessons for teachers to choose from.

Ease of Use


Nearpod is fairly easy to use. Rogowski (2021) stated that it may take some time for teachers to learn how to navigate Nearpod. This is because there are many different tools to use on this website. However, after users get the hang of the website, it is very easy to use. At first it would be helpful for teachers to do a tutorial on Nearpod because the website is so versatile. 


Versatility


Nearpod is very versatile. This is because it offers many different activities and lessons for teachers to choose from. It allows teachers to create lessons, videos, presentations, live formative assessments, ongoing assessments, open ended tasks, and it allows teachers to give students codes where they can participate in Nearpod at their own times (The Nearpod Team, 2021). Teachers can even embed videos and pictures into their lessons to make it even more engaging. Teachers can upload presentations from Google Slides or a PowerPoint to Nearpod, it is very versatile in that aspect. There are also over twenty formative assessments for teachers to choose from (The Nearpod Team, 2021). As you can see, there are many different options when using Nearpod. 



Likelihood of Using


I am somewhat likely to use Nearpod. This is because I have not heard about it before. I am not familiar with the website or the different tools. I also have not heard of other teachers using Nearpod either. I will try it out in the future to see what I think of it and then decide from there if I would like to use it in the future. 

Connections to Course


Nearpod connects to the “Seven Events of Technology” through “Presenting the Content,” and “Assessing the Lesson Outcome.” Nearpod can be used for “Presenting the Content” and “T3 (instructing) of the TLC framework” because teachers can integrate PowerPoints, videos, and even pictures into their lessons that are on Nearpod. Nearpod helps to present the content because teachers can upload their full lesson. Since a teacher's entire lesson can be taught from Nearpod, it can be used to present the content. Nearpod connects to “Assessing the Lesson Outcome” because there are over twenty formative assessments for teachers to choose from (The Nearpod Team, 2021). These range from multiple choice questions to open ended questions that the students have to type in themselves. Teachers could also have students draw what they think the answer is or have them fill in the blanks (Nearpod, 2021). There are options for formative assessments for every type of learner. 


Nearpod connects to the “TLC” framework of “T2 Assessing.” This is because Nearpod has many formative assessments for teachers to use. As stated before, Nearpod has over twenty formative assessment options for teachers to choose from (The Nearpod Team, 2021). Teachers can choose from a variety of assessments such as polls, drag and drop questions, and even a collaborative board if the teacher wants the students working together on the formative assessment (Nearpod, 2021). Teachers will be able to see how well the students are doing on the assessments as well.

    I really like this technology as at first I didn't know what this was and how it was used. Once I wrote about this technology I was able to gain more knowledge on how it was used and how it could be helpful to me in the classroom. As you have mentioned how you could see yourself using this tool and I could relate to that as I see this really helpful to use in the classroom.
